Tip 23 - Insurance
Of course you are—and darned proud of it, too! We know
the pride distributors feel; of owning their own business and
determining their own future. However, being self-employed doesn’t
have to mean you can’t share in some of the perks of large
corporations. There is an organization designed to help the millions
of self-employed Americans; it’s called the National Association
of the Self-Employed, or NASE. Membership gives you access to
business advice, discounts on office supplies and business-related
equipment, tax services, mailing and shipping, and lots more.
One area of special interest is insurance—now you may be
able to qualify for the kind of group rates only available to
large companies with many employees! They offer legal services;
a Congressional Advocacy Program, giving self-employed business
owners a strong, collective voice in Washington, DC; scholarship
programs for children of the self-employed; and the list goes
on and on.
To find out more, visit www.nase.org. If you’d like to
join, you can do so online, or you can call NASE Member Services
at 1-800-232-NASE (6273) and tell them you’d like more information,
and a NASE representative will contact you.
